Book Club Website

One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday afternoon is visit my local library. These days, it’s easy to be on your smartphone and scroll through endless content. For me, I get that same thrill by browsing through endless categories of books varying in size and texture. You never know what treasure you might stumble upon and take home. I’ve always found this to be a very purposeful and relaxing experience.

Throughout my graphic design career, I designed printed brochures and booklets for many brands. Today, that physical medium is not as common since the digital world allows people to share and intake information at their fingertips, through mobile websites. So I wanted to translate my print skills into a responsive brochure website. The content of this mock website is a homage to my experiences as a print graphic designer and love of physical books.

The mock book club content allowed me to explore more UX/UI features such as slideshows, forms, and modals. I also linked the current New York Times Best Sellers API to the summer schedule and trending books sections, so the website is never static. This project gave me the opportunity to further finesse my responsive skills.
